Savannah Botanical Gardens

SMS Spotlight: Savannah Botanical Gardens

Join us for the Georgia History Festival’s  Super Museum Sunday on February 7, 2016, featuring free admission to many museums and other cultural sites throughout Georgia!

The Savannah Botanical Gardens, operated by the Savannah Area Council of Garden Clubs (SACGC), was established by volunteers in the late 1980s as a public showcase of area garden clubs. Located at the corner of Eisenhower and Sallie Mood Drives in Savannah, the garden is open during daylight hours year round and contains accessible walkways for exploring formal and naturalistic plantings throughout the property.

Visit the Gardens to see exhibits such as an herb parterre, vegetable garden, fern garden, perennial garden, children’s garden, and the Ann Douglas White Memorial Rose Center. There is also a two-acre pond, nature trails, an amphitheater, an archaeological exhibit, and the historic Reinhard House, which hosts weddings and special events. Visit the Savannah Botanical Gardens to be immersed in the sights, sounds, and scents of nature’s beauty.

Learn more at the Savannah Botanical Gardens website and visit the Georgia History Festival website for a list of all participating Super Museum Sunday sites.
