As a new feature of the 2016-2017 Georgia History Festival, GHS will highlight a special event coordinated by an organization within our statewide Affiliate Chapter Program. On February 16 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., please join The Columbus Museum for an evening of dance, music, art, and history inspired by the founding of our nation. At Discovering the Art and Music of the Founding Fathers, visitors will have the opportunity to experience English Country Dance, which was popular during the Colonial and Federalist eras, while listening to period music. During the musical break, you are encouraged to enjoy a tour of Talk Less, Smile More: American Colonial and Federal Portrait, an exhibit inspired by the musical Hamilton. For those interested in learning the dances, instruction begins at 5:15 p.m. and will continue throughout the evening. Prior dance experience and period costume are not required.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, click here.
