Join the Georgia Historical Society and the UVA Club of Savannah for a discussion with Dr. Sidney Milkis, the White Burkett Miller Professor in the Department of Politics at the University of Virginia and a Faculty Fellow at the UVA Miller Center. Dr. Milkis is the author of What Happened to the Vital Center: Presidentialism, Populist Revolt, and the Fracturing of America. As the Kickoff Event for GHS’s US250 commemoration, the program will feature a wide-ranging discussion exploring how the American experiment in self-government has evolved to meet the challenges of an ever-changing country over the last 250 years. This event also begins the 2023-2024 GHS Georgia History Festival that will examine the theme, “Governing Georgia Across Three Centuries.”
