GHS Education Coordinator Sophia Sineath will lead the eighth-grade students at Ashworth Middle School through an engaging in-school activity. In this activity, students will explore primary sources from the Georgia Historical Society to understand the original vision James Oglethorpe and the Trustees had for their innovative new colony and how successful or unsuccessful they were in making that vision a reality. In the end, students will have a better understanding of the people and events central to the story of Georgia’s founding and will be able to discuss the legacy of Oglethorpe’s vision for Georgia.
