Each week during the 2016-2017 Georgia History Festival, GHS will shine a light on one participating Super Museum Sunday site. This popular annual event, held on the Sunday (February 5) before Georgia Day (February 12), allows visitors and residents alike to experience our state’s rich history and cultural life. In the month of September, GHS will highlight Super Museum Sunday sites that help illustrate the Festival’s September theme of “James Oglethorpe and the Vision for Georgia.”
This week’s Super Museum Sunday Spotlight highlights the Coastal Heritage Society’s Savannah History Museum, where visitors can explore Savannah’s history from its founding in 1733 to present day! Explore exhibits about the American Revolution, transportation, Juliette Gordon Low and the Girls Scouts, and even see the bench from Forrest Gump! Discover the rich history of Savannah at the Savannah History Museum for FREE on February 5, 2016 as part of Super Museum Sunday!
Check back in January for a full list of participating sites!
